Nurturing the love of Books
Wednesday 9th April 2014 -World Books’ Day
Instilling the love of reading.
Our three R’s….. Read, Read and Read
Reading helps in writing.
Our school has initiated the Race for good practice in reading. We are happy to note that most of you are engaging the pupils in weekly book reviews exercise. The Book reading race will reward those pupils who are nourishing the love for books. Every class teacher is being asked to take note, during the scholastic year, of that particular pupil:
who actively shows the love of books and reading in instances like when s/he has finished school work and chooses voluntarily instead of idling about, to read,
borrows regularly from the class library and performs regularly a show and tell exercise on the latest book he/she has read.
prefers to make use of the reading corner during recreation time
asks permission to go and borrow/exchange library books from the public library
On our part we shall keep track of those pupils who would have enrolled in the Book Club and regularly attend the sessions.
Results from the Book Reading Race will be announced on the World Books’ Day on 9th April 2014.
With sincere regards,
